Since last year, Hong Kong has emerged as the priciest city for expats and one of the top-performing markets when it comes to ultra-luxury residential sales. At the very pinnacle of its housing stock is a record-setting $280 million mansion in Repulse Bay on the southern part of Hong Kong Island. The trophy townhouse was initially scooped up in 2014 by local property firm First Group Holdings. The conversion project included turning the five-story apartment complex into an 11-bedroom, eight-bath single-family home. Completed in 2019, the approximately 18,300-square-foot stunner is decked out with a built-in elevator, a private garden, automatic gates, and a sprawling rooftop terrace with postcard views of the city and sea. The over-the-top abode also features lots of glossy marble, a swanky double staircase, a garage with an EV charger, and an outdoor patio that can accommodate over 100 guests.
