In terms of specifications, the RS7 – which has a 560 horsepower – may appear to lose out to the previous S63, but don’t underestimate its acceleration. It clocks in at 3.7 seconds in the sprint from 0-60 and can reach a top speed of 174mph (280km/h). Its 4.0-liter V8 engine also provides 516.3lb-ft of torque between 1750 and 5500 rpm. The interior boasts superior leather fixings, its signature honeycomb style, and technological perks like a swanky BOSE® sound system.
3. Alpina B6 Gran Coupe

That the Alpina B6 Gran Coupe is at third place on this list is a testament to how excellent of an addition the partnership between Alpina and BMW is to the luxury sedan market. Constructed upon BMW’s M6 Gran Coupe, the B6 Gran Coupe is able to launch from 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds flat. Sure, the timing is the same as fourth-place-holder RS7, but the specs read as more impressive. With a 4.4-liter Alpina-tuned Bi-Turbo V8, 540 horsepower coupled with 540lb-ft of torque, the car is truly impressive. Not to mention all this is housed in an eye-pleasing Alpina’s trademark 20-inch, 20-spoke wheels, and its exterior – by now a classic look on the roads – which is completed by the luxurious leather interior.
4. Panamera Turbo S

Such was the case with the Panamera Turbo S. All the grousing was put to bed, however, once the car proved that it could and did perform. With a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds, the Panamera Turbo S’s top speed is a remarkable 192mph (309km/h), astounding for a sedan. One of the sportier-looking sedans on this list, it has a horsepower of 570, a 4.8-liter V8, and up to 590lb-ft of torque.
5. E 63 AMG

We’ve come a full circle because the champion, the fastest luxury sedan on the list, is also a Mercedes. The E 63 AMG, to be exact. This US$101,700 (S$142,079) car has all the hallmarks of the luxury Mercedes brand — comfort, refined looks, and power. Like its sibling further up this list, the E63 AMG boasts a 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8 engine and identical horsepower, but is both smaller and lighter which explains why it can rocket from 0 to 60 in just 3.5 seconds. It was a close race, but the E63 AMG takes the trophy in the end.
