The Callum Skye, the first vehicle from former Jaguar design head Ian Callum’s eponymous brand, is set to make its public debut in London at the Concours on Savile Row this week. This futuristic electric off-roader, which has been eagerly anticipated since renderings were released last fall, will finally be on display for the general public.
The Skye’s design is a striking departure from Callum’s previous work, which includes iconic sports cars like the Jaguar C-X75 and Aston Martin Vanquish. The vehicle features a distinct two-part design: the upper section boasts clean lines, smooth curves, and bold colors, making it eye-catching in urban settings. In contrast, the lower section is equipped with massive all-terrain tires, highlighting its off-road capabilities. The newly released images of the 2+2 interior reveal a minimalist aesthetic, with a stacked center console and rotary dial controls.
Under the hood, the Skye is powered by a drivetrain with electric motors on each axle, providing all-wheel drive, and a 42-kWh battery pack. While the exact power output is not specified, the EV can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under four seconds. The range is a modest 170 miles, but the lightweight design—thanks to a steel-and-carbon spaceframe chassis—keeps the vehicle’s weight down to 2,530 pounds. Additionally, the battery can be fully charged in just 10 minutes, an impressive feat for an EV.
For those interested in owning the Callum Skye, reservations are now open on the company’s website for £500. The vehicle will be hand-built, with only 100 units planned for production. Each unit is expected to cost between £80,000 (approximately $102,000) and £110,000 (around $140,000).
The public unveiling at Savile Row marks a significant milestone for Callum’s brand, showcasing their innovative approach to electric vehicle design and performance.
