Nilu27, a new automotive startup led by designer Sasha Selipanov, is making waves with its first model, the Nilu. This supercar, which features a naturally aspirated V-12 engine paired with a manual transmission, is a dream come true for purists who crave the raw, unfiltered driving experience of a bygone era.

Selipanov, who co-founded the brand with his wife Inna, brings a wealth of experience to Nilu27, having worked on some of the most iconic supercars of the century, including the Bugatti Chiron, Lamborghini Huracán, and Koenigsegg Gemera and CC850. With the Nilu, he has taken the lessons learned from these legendary vehicles and elevated them to create something truly extraordinary.

The Nilu is a strikingly bold supercar with a design that commands attention. Its heavily sculpted body features a massive shark-like front grille, prominent NACA ducts along the sides, and gullwing doors that open to reveal a minimalist interior with a gated shifter and minimal screens. The car’s most eye-catching feature, however, is its exposed engine at the rear, giving the vehicle a futuristic, almost spaceship-like appearance.

The power behind this machine is a “Hot V" V-12 engine, developed in collaboration with New Zealand’s Harley Engine. This naturally aspirated 80-degree V-12, paired with a seven-speed manual gearbox, produces an astonishing 1,070 horsepower and 634 ft-lbs of torque, with a redline at 10,000 rpm. The unique “Hot V" configuration, which sees the exhaust exiting from the top of the engine, not only enhances performance but also contributes to the car’s distinctive look. Nilu27 claims the car can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in under three seconds and reach a top speed of around 250 mph.

Nilu27 plans to showcase the Nilu at Pebble Beach during this year’s Monterey Car Week. With only 15 examples set to be produced, the car is sure to be an exclusive and highly sought-after piece of automotive art. Although pricing details have yet to be revealed, it is expected to come with a significant price tag. For those unable to get their hands on one, the Nilu will also make an appearance in Zynga’s mobile game, CSR Racing 2, later this year, offering a virtual taste of the driving experience.
