Riety’s artistic exploration has led to her upcoming launch of limited-edition luggage tags and passport holders made in collaboration with Air New Zealand. “The artwork is inspired by my journey in New Zealand. I was deeply moved by the Māori way of spiritual thinking, their deep connection with the land, and the incredible biodiversity of New Zealand’s nature," Riety shared.
“Therefore, I have incorporated Māori elements such as their traditional tattoo patterns which reflect their intricate ancestral art, alongside a girl gracefully performing a poi rope dance. I also added elements of New Zealand’s unique flora and fauna which are shaped by the country’s long-standing isolation. Painted in watercolour using a calm, natural palette, the piece captures the serene beauty as well as warm, welcoming spirit of New Zealand."
