Paris, March 19, 2025 – Dorchester Collection’s Hôtel Plaza Athénée has launched a new afternoon tea experience, which will be served in the hotel’s elegant La Galerie. The new menu has been created by the hotel’s duo of pastry chefs, Angelo Musa and Elisabeth Hot, in collaboration with chef Jean Imbert.
The hotel’s executive pastry chef, Angelo Musa, is globally renowned for his creative flair, which has seen him awarded both ‘Best Pastry Craftsman of France’ and ‘World Pastry Champion’. He has worked alongside his protégé Parisian-born, Elisabeth Hot, to create the new menu, which blends classic favourites with new creative temptations that will be updated throughout the year to reflect the Parisian seasons.
The variety of options for guests to indulge in will include the Iconic Plaza Cake, which features the hotel’s logo, a tart or choux pastry of the day and a special creation by head baker Pierre-Emmanuel Vargas. Other alternatives on the menu that guests can choose are a soft brioche with orange blossom, hazelnut rolls and a coconut éclair with exotic fruits or a chocolate-lime mousse.
For those with a more savoury palette there is also a selection of delicate sandwiches, including trout and truffle. There will also be special ‘mimosa’ sandwich, featuring egg-mayonnaise and bright orange egg powder to mimic a mimosa flower.
These delicious and colourful creations will be presented on a new display that celebrates the hotel’s architectural heritage. Entirely handmade by French artisans, it incorporates distinctive elements of the Plaza Athénée’s façade, including its famous marquee and rounded balconies. The display is made up of ninety distinct pieces crafted from noble materials including immaculate acrylic stone and silvered brass.
