Inspired by Egypt’s rich heritage, the collection featured intricate patterns that celebrated not only Egypt’s ancient artistry but also the craftsmanship of the skilled Chanel ateliers. The lots on offer, all reflect timeless elegance and are versatile for any occasion."

The late Chanel creative director, Karl Lagerfeld (1933-2019) was known for creating elaborate sets. The Temple of Dendur dating from around 15 BC, was the perfect backdrop to the Chanel Egyptian inspired collection, transforming the runway into another world. Lagerfeld said of the show at the time that he had always been captivated by ancient Egypt’s imagery and culture, that there was a timelessness to it. The result was a collection that was a contemporary interpretation of ancient Egypt fused with Chanel’s Paris.
