HKS’ portfolio includes a number of acclaimed properties such as the Fairmont Taghazout Resort, winner of the 2023 Hotel Design Award by Design and part of the Conde Nast Traveler 2022 Hot List, and the upcoming Corinthia Maldives Resort, designed with an immersive layout rooted in wellness and ecological sensitivity. Other high-profile works include the Belmond Cap Juluca Resort (2019), Hotel Indigo Nanjing (2022)—recipient of the 2023 MIPIM Asia Gold Award—and the Resorts World Sentosa Island Master Plan (2019), one of Singapore’s most significant integrated tourism projects. Upcoming highlights include the Shanghai West Bund Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Convention Center(2028), and the Baccarat Hotel & Residences Maldives (2027).

To support its growing pipeline in the region, HKS has expanded operations through its Singapore studio, where it coalesces global innovation with local insight. The practice is led by two principals Dr. Stéphane Lasserre, Studio Practice Leader for Hospitality and Robert Day, Studio Practice Leader for Master Planning & Landscape. This dual-principal model gives clients a unique edge through fully integrated master planning, landscape, and architectural design from the outset.

Lasserre brings over two decades of experience in hospitality and wellness architecture across Vietnam, China, the Philippines India, and the Maldives. A champion of biophilic and place-based design, his work weaves together culture, nature, and human connection. He is also the founder of Nobo Farms, a micro-farming initiative that reflects his passion for scalable, sustainable systems. Day is a globally recognized landscape architect and master planner whose career spans transformative resorts from Morocco to Indonesia. Known for walking the land before planning it, his approach blends ecological resilience, cultural authenticity, and low-impact tourism. Robert’s masterplans—such as Bali Nirwana, Phu Quoc Island Long Term Strategic Vision Plan and Hoiana Shores—demonstrate how thoughtful planning can regenerate environments and enrich communities. Together, they are at the forefront of regenerative design thinking in Asia Pacific.
