100 open hotels for IHG’s fastest growing premium brand, voco

Milestone comes within just seven years of the brand’s inception

Bangkok, 23 June 2025:IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is celebrating the significant milestone of 100 open hotels for its voco brand within just seven years.  

Launched in 2018 and known for offering distinct and thoughtful guest experiences, voco has quickly become the fastest growing brand within IHG’s Premium collection, having achieved record development activity levels across openings and signings in 2024, with properties in over 25* countries and further market entries in Thailand, Malaysia and Jamaica set for the next two years. 

The brand has seen incredible growth momentum since its launch. In 2023, it had 100 open & pipeline hotels and since then has almost doubled both its system and pipeline, reflecting the strength of IHG’s enterprise platform and in line with its strategy to accelerate IHG’s ability to capture conversion opportunities. voco now has 100 hotels open across 25* countries with a further 95* properties in the pipeline. 

The success of the brand comes from its flexible approach to design and an operational framework perfect for conversions, allowing owners to benefit quickly from IHG’s enterprise platform, with limited upfront costs. voco offers individual properties the opportunity to join a distinctive brand portfolio, where thoughtful, tailored enhancements create a big impact while preserving each hotel’s unique character.

voco Quang Binh Resort – By IHG | Dong Hoi, Vietnam 

Opened in May 2025 voco Quang Binh Resort – by IHG is the world’s first voco resort, set along Bao Ninh Beach in Dong Hoi. voco Bandung Setiabudi | Bandung, Indonesia 

Strategically located in the heart of Setiabudi, one of Bandung’s most sought-after districts, voco Bandung Setiabudi brings a new standard of premium hospitality to Indonesia’s thriving business and leisure destination. Opening soon, the hotel features 162 stylishly appointed rooms, each thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience, along with an inviting all-day dining restaurant, one ballroom and six flexible meeting rooms for event spaces, heated swimming pool, a well-equipped fitness centre and wellness treatment rooms, and a kids’ club. 

voco Bangkok Surawong by IHG | Bangkok, Thailand 

The 242-room voco Bangkok Surawong will rebrand from the former Tawanna Bangkok hotel and – following a full renovation – reopen in late 2025, ready to introduce travellers to voco hotels’ distinctive stay experience. Situated in the heart of Surawong, a bustling district near Silom and Sathorn. This will be the first voco property to open in Thailand, and is  perfectly located for guests nearby popular restaurants, shopping and entertainment attractions, and within walking distance of Lumpini Park. Just a 40-minute drive from Suvarnabhumi International Airport, facilities include two restaurants and bars, more than 500 square metres of meeting rooms, an outdoor pool, gym and Kids Club.  

voco Scenia Bay Nha Trang – By IHG | Nha Trang, Vietnam 

The spectacular voco Scenia Bay Nha Trang – By IHG will sit at the heart of the coastal city of Nha Trang when it opens near the end of this year. The 250-key property will offer panoramic sea views across its 28 floors once it is completed and will meet the increasing demand for great stay experiences in the city best known for its pristine white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and fresh seafood. Less than an hour’s drive from Cam Ranh International Airport, voco Scenia Bay Nha Trang – By IHG will be located within Nha Trang JSC’s largest real estate construction, part of an up-and-coming tourism masterplan development designed to unlock the area’s strong growth potential. 

voco Kuching | Kuching, Malaysia 

Slated to open late 2026, the 321-room voco Kuching will be the first voco property in Malaysia. Just a 15-minute drive from the city centre and five minutes from the Kuching International Airport, the hotel will provide guests with a comfortable and relaxing base to explore the wonders of Sarawak. Expect a swimming pool, an all-day-dining restaurant, lounge and a fitness centre, along with over 2,400 sqm of meeting space including a ballroom that will accommodate 1,300 people.
