เครือ Accor เตรียมสร้างฝันให้กลายเป็นจริงกับเรือสำราญสุดหรูภายใต้แบรนด์ Orient Express มีกำหนดเปิดตัวในปี 2026 ผ่านการหารือร่วมกับ Dubai Holding เพื่อระดมทุนในการพัฒนาเรือสองลำ มูลค่าประมาณ 867 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ หากประสบความสำเร็จ Dubai Holding จะกลายเป็นเจ้าของเรือส่วนใหญ่ ทำให้ Accor สามารถตัดสินทรัพย์นี้ออกจากงบดุลได้
นักลงทุนตะวันออกกลาง รวมถึง Dubai Holding แสดงความสนใจในอุตสาหกรรมสินค้าหรูมากขึ้น โดยมีการลงทุนหลายพันล้านดอลลาร์ในธุรกิจโรงแรมและการท่องเที่ยว เรือสำราญสุดหรูอย่าง “Orient Express Silenseas” ซึ่งต่อโดย Chantiers de l’Atlantique บริษัทต่อเรือสัญชาติฝรั่งเศส จะมาพร้อมกับเทคโนโลยีรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม เช่น ระบบ SolidSail ที่ได้รับการจดสิทธิบัตร ช่วยลดการปล่อยมลพิษและเสียงรบกวน
นอกจากนี้ แบรนด์หรูอื่น ๆ อย่าง Ritz-Carlton, Belmond, Aman และ Four Seasons ก็ต่างเข้าสู่ตลาดเรือสำราญเช่นกัน โดยมุ่งเน้นการมอบประสบการณ์โรงแรมหรูบนผืนน้ำ

Accor’s luxury cruise liners may soon become a reality, with plans for an Orient Express ship set to debut in 2026. Talks with Dubai Holding could secure funding for the development of two vessels, valued at approximately US$867 million. If successful, Dubai Holding would become the majority owner, allowing Accor to remove the assets from its balance sheet. Middle Eastern investors, including Dubai Holding, have shown increased interest in the luxury sector, investing billions in hospitality and tourism ventures. The Orient Express Silenseas, constructed by French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique, will feature eco-friendly technology, including a patented SolidSail system, reducing emissions and noise. Other luxury brands like Ritz-Carlton, Belmond, Aman, and Four Seasons are also entering the cruise market, aiming to provide a luxury hotel experience at sea.
