Crystal Clear
The success of Bell & Ross’s military and aviation-inspired pieces in recent years has naturally led to a curiosity about its inner workings. This year’s made-to-order BR-X1 Tourbillon Sapphire (price on request) represents an apogee of sorts, with a sapphire case constructed from nine unique blocks; a middle, back, top, crystal and four bumpers, with screws to hold it together.
Through this case, one is able to witness the BR CAL 285, a mono-pusher chronograph mated to a flying tourbillon. The timepiece’s front showcases the column wheel, instant jumping minute and the functional whips whilst a glance at the back offers a view of the power reserve differential. Another notch then, in the cap of founders and partners Carlos Rosillo and Bruno Belamich. As the former states, “we are proudest of being different and consistent – and we feel good when we are able to work on our passion for timepieces."
