The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit, the edgy, art-inspired boutique hotel on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, has revealed plans for another dramatic month of culinary and cultural creativity this July, as it marks the start of green season in Thailand with a wonderfully fresh monsoon menu at BANG, and a highly emotional new exhibition at the 10-10 Art Space.
Taste the Freshness of the Monsoon at BANG
From Thailand’s lush, rain-soaked south to the vibrant streets of Bangkok, BANG welcomes the annual monsoon with a “Seasonal Southern Thai Menu" that celebrates soulful, seasonal ingredients. Drawing inspiration from local traditions, the hotel’s talented chefs have crafted a collection of dishes that will transport diners’ senses on a journey of flavor and fragrance through Southern Thailand’s pristine shores, palm groves, mountains and mangroves.
Guests can savor authentic Southern Thai recipes such as deep-fried threadfin bream fish from Ranong infused with herbs, paco fern salad with crispy golden-fried mussels from Samut Songkhram, and wok-fried Thai stink beans with white shrimp, a Southern Thai classic reimagined with a funky, fiery twist. A timeless dessert of crispy roti with caramelized pineapple is finished with a drizzle of caramel concocted from Songkhla’s finest palm sugar, and served with cool coconut ice cream.
These evocative dishes are available throughout July 2025. If your mouth is already watering for these rain-soaked Southern Thai dishes, click here to book your place at BANG!
A Mournful Yet Mesmerizing New Exhibition at 10 10 Art Space

This July, The StandardX, Bangkok Phra Arthit invites art lovers to leave the everyday world behind and embark on a thought-provoking, multi-sensory odyssey with acclaimed local artist Riety Pahn. The immersive “Ballad for the Breathing" exhibition strives to show how the planet is edging toward the sixth mass extinction, and how nature – once alive with the pulse of magic – has gradually been replace with manmade development.

Through whimsical oil paintings, mixed media, installations, and storytelling that feels ancient yet ominous, Pahn constructs a haunting mythology – a mourning for the loss of what was once sacred: the cycle of life, death, and renewal. “Ballad for the Breathing" invites guests to listen to the spirits and step into a story that feels imagined, yet eerily familiar.
This mesmerizing exhibition can be experienced at the hotel’s 10 10 Art Space until July 31, 2025.
Curious explorers who want to uncover these cultural and culinary wonders can take advantage of the hotel’s latest package, which invites travellers to “Staycay with a Bang" in the heart of Bangkok’s old town.
