Important Fancy Vivid Pink Diamond and Diamond Ring Sells for HK$4,449,000
Impressive Kat Florence 181.61 Carat Paraiba-type Tourmaline sells for HK$3,814,000
Hong Kong – Bonhams Hong Kong Jewels & Jadeite sale on 22 May saw the curated live sale feature a notable collection of exquisite designs which achieved strong results. The top lot was an important fancy vivid pink diamond and diamond ring. The exceptional diamond, weighing 1.08 carats of straight vivid pink colour without any secondary hue, rare of its type with internally flawless clarity, set in a contemporary design, sold for HK$4,449,000.
The 132-lot sale showcased fancy-coloured diamonds and gemstones, an important fancy vivid pink diamond, rubies, sapphires and emeralds from notable maisons including a rare 181.61 carat unmounted Paraiba-type tourmaline by contemporary fine jeweller Kat Florence.

The sale also demonstrated the enduring appeal for jewels from notable maisons, we saw 100% success rate for all Cartier jewels presented in the sale, led by the rare Cartier diamond and sapphire “Panthère" bracelet. Another sale highlight was the ‘Kat Florence Lumina’, an impressive, unmounted Paraiba-type tourmaline, weighing 181.61 carats. The unheated and untreated gemstone of Mozambique origin is of high clarity and fine cut and was internally flawless with a natural, greenish blue hue. The rare gemstone sold for HK$3,814,000.

Other notable sale highlights included:
- A pair of Harry Winston ruby and diamond pendant earrings of natural, Burmese origin and no indication of heat treatment, weighing 6.96 carats and 6.98 carats. The earrings, sold for HK$3,623,500.
- A pair of unmounted emeralds of Colombian origin, weighing 20.06 and 19.95 carats, displaying a high degree of transparency, sold for HK$956,500.

- A rare Cartier Diamond, Sapphire, Emerald and Onyx “Panthère" Bracelet, circa 2006. The signature Panthère bracelet crafted in platinum, is designed as two opposing panther heads, pavé-set throughout with brilliant-cut diamonds and rare-use of buff- top sapphire spots, replacing ordinary onyx. The Panthère is set with emerald eyes and an onyx nose. The bracelet has a total diamond weight of 17.50 carats and sold for HK$2,036,000.
- A Cartier Ruby and Diamond Brooch, circa 1935. The design features a 8.27-carat pink sapphire, set to the center of an Art Deco motif set with round brilliant-cut and baguette diamonds. The brooch sold for HK$281,600.

- A spinel and diamond ring featuring an unheated 15.06 carat orangy-red spinel of Tanzanian origin set with diamonds, sold for HK$1,909,000.
- A Fancy yellow diamond and diamond ring. A cut-cornered rectangular mixed- cut natural fancy yellow diamond of VS2 clarity, weighing 17.46 carats, set with prongs and ring shank fully pavé-set with round brilliant-cut diamonds. The ring sold for HK$1,655,000.
