INTRODUCING THE BIOCERAMIC MOONSWATCH MISSION TO THE PINK MOONPHASE: A CELESTIAL TRIBUTE TO APRIL’S MICROMOON

This April, Swatch will be celebrating the annual appearance of the Pink Moon with the Bioceramic MoonSwatch MISSION TO THE PINK MOONPHASE. Fans can purchase this unique timepiece only for a limited time starting from April 1, and only at selected Swatch sales locations, specifically those which will feature a miniature pink Rolling Planet!

This year, April’s Pink Moon comes with a twist—it’s also a micromoon, meaning it may appear slightly smaller and dimmer than usual in the sky as it reaches the farthest point in its orbit around Earth. This contrasts with last August, when the Full Moon was at its closest point in its orbit around our planet and appeared bigger than usual—a celestial event celebrated with MISSION TO THE SUPER BLUE MOONPHASE.

Unlike the micromoon in April however, MISSION TO THE PINK MOONPHASE, will shine bright, revealing a world of intricate details and beautiful pink hues. Apart from a chronograph function, this timepiece features a moon phase indicator at its 2 o’clock subdial set against a black and silver-pink opaline dial. The moon phase features two pink moons which glow pink in the dark as they rotate under the silver-pink opaline mask, thanks to their Super-LumiNova®️ coating. When subjected to UV light, a secret detail appears on the moon phase mask. Just like the MISSION TO THE SUPER BLUE MOONPHASE, the black Bioceramic bezel of MISSION TO THE PINK MOONPHASE features a pulsometer scale with white opaline markers.

Typically found on sports chronographs, the pulsometer is a specialized feature that allows wearers to easily measure their heart rate. To use it, the wearer starts the chronograph when they feel their pulse. After counting 30 beats, they stop the chronograph and use the pulsometer scale on the dial to determine their heart rate in beats per minute (BPM). In a playful touch, the 2 o’clock push button has a small, embossed heart—a new and fitting detail referencing the pulsometer.

Like all models in the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection, MISSION TO THE PINK MOONPHASE is crafted from Bioceramic, Swatch’s innovative, patented mix of two-thirds ceramic and one-third biosourced materials produced from castor oil. It also boasts many of the iconic features of OMEGA’s legendary Speedmaster Moonwatch, including its asymmetrical case and distinctive, recessed Speedmaster subdials.

The OMEGA X SWATCH logos are proudly displayed on its dial and crown, while its mission statement is engraved on the back of its pink case. The battery cover showcases a moon in a stunning array of pink shades, while a spacesuit-ready pink VELCRO® strap, adds the final touch of astronaut chic.

Those who want to get their hands on MISSION TO THE PINK MOONPHASE, will have to do a little cosmic exploring, as April’s micromoon has also worked its lunar magic on the Rolling Planets! The themed cars that are known for touring the world with the MoonSwatch Collection, have now been miniaturized and will “traveling" to the selected Swatch stores that will be selling this unique timepiece. Fans will have to keep their eyes on Swatch’s social media channels where the Rolling Planets will be marking where the MISSION TO THE PINK MOONPHASE can be found before it “vanishes", much like the Pink Moon, into the cosmic expanse.

As with the whole Bioceramic MoonSwatch Collection, only one watch can be purchased per person, per day and per Swatch sales locations.
