Since its establishment in 1890, the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo has impressed both high-profile foreign and Japanese patrons alike, being one of the first Victorian-style hotels in the nation, outfitted with western furniture, such as American beds, wood-burning fireplaces, and English sterling silver cutlery.

Notably, in 1923, the original structure was replaced with an elaborate low-rise, designed by acclaimed American architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
