Jeep is introducing its first U.S. electric vehicle, the all-electric Wagoneer S. Unlike the larger, gas-powered Wagoneers, the Wagoneer S is a mid-size SUV with a streamlined, aerodynamic design. It measures 192.4 inches in length, making it almost two feet shorter than its gas-powered counterparts. The EV features a decorative illuminated seven-slot grille, sits lower to the ground, and includes a large rear spoiler.

Inside, the Wagoneer S has a leather-covered interior with a dashboard-spanning screen array that includes a digital gauge cluster, infotainment display, climate control display, and passenger display. The Launch Edition will be fully loaded with driver-assistance systems, a head-up display, heated front and rear seats, and a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system.

Built on the STLA Large platform, the Wagoneer S has a dual-motor powertrain producing 600 hp and 617 ft-lbs of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. It’s powered by a 100.5-kWh battery pack, offering a 300-mile range. The battery can charge from 20 to 80 percent in 23 minutes using a DC fast charger.

The Wagoneer S will have all-wheel drive but isn’t initially designed for off-roading. However, Jeep has shown a concept version, the Wagoneer S Trailhawk, which has better ground clearance and all-terrain tires, indicating a more rugged variant might follow.

Reservations for the Wagoneer S open on Friday, with deliveries of the Launch Edition, starting at $71,995, expected to begin later this year.
