July 2025 – Since it was founded more than 30 years ago, Aman has pioneered a new kind of hospitality through the creation of expansive spaces that offer incomparable privacy, tranquillity and ease. Highlighting this ethos, the design of each Aman resort is carefully considered, sensitive and always in perfect harmony with its surroundings. Aman’s pools are an example of this philosophy — more than just places to swim, they are architecturally nuanced extensions of the landscape. Whether reflecting endless skies, suspended above rice paddies or carved around geological wonders, Aman’s pools are among some of the world’s most spectacular.
Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, Thailand
Rising from the leafy surrounds of the historic Nai Lert Park, Aman’s newest urban sanctuary follows in the footsteps of its original ancestor, Amanpuri, bringing the brand full circle in its birthplace of Thailand. Renowned as vertical retreats, Aman’s city hotels bring all the hallmarks of a peaceful Aman resort to the world’s finest cities. With views of the park’s tropical foliage from every aspect, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok’s serene 25-metre pool offers a rare outdoor escape, far removed from the capital’s rhythm. With views of the skyline on the horizon, guests can hop from the pool to hydrotherapy facilities with effortless ease, allowing the stresses of city life to seamlessly melt away.
Amanpuri, Thailand
Set on its own private peninsula on Phuket’s peaceful west coast, Aman’s first resort, Amanpuri serves as a blueprint for Aman’s revered design, hospitality and inimitable spirit. At its heart lies a glassy, 27-metre black-tiled pool that stretches out towards to Andaman Sea, serving as the resort’s spellbinding centrepiece. Framed on either side by swaying coconut palms and the resort’s distinctive Thai-inspired pavilions, it rests still and peaceful, inviting long afternoons of relaxation in the dappled shade.
Amanruya, Turkey
Inspired by the region’s traditional villages, Amanruya overlooks the Aegean Sea in a quiet valley on Turkey’s Bodrum Peninsula. Lined with emerald-green marble sourced from the Turkish city of Antalya, the resort’s 50-metre infinity pool is its show piece, stretching along the hillside past elegant dining pavilions and ending beside the spa. Flanked by daybeds, it offers panoramic views over rolling olive groves right down to the bay and beyond. A mirror for the surrounding architecture, the pool is aesthetically inspiring from every angle, reflecting the resort’s Ottoman-style facades in shimmering hues. Swim long, liberating lengths or float out towards the endless horizon, becoming part of the landscape. Each guest Pavilion also features its very own pool, for peaceful morning dips in consummate privacy.
Amangiri, United States
A sanctuary of serenity, Amangiri’s modernist suites echo the tranquillity of Utah’s canyons, tucked into a protected valley with sweeping views towards Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Carved seamlessly into this dramatic desert landscape, the resort’s iconic swimming pool curves around a towering 160-million-year-old sandstone rock, offering as much an architectural marvel as a place to reset. With canyon views from every vantage point, swimming here provides a profound connection with the natural surrounds, fostering a sense of peace that echoes the desert’s quiet stillness.
Aman New York, United States
A landmark urban sanctuary in Midtown Manhattan, Aman New York was designed by long-time Aman collaborator Jean-Michel Gathy, of Denniston Architects. The hotel is the result of an ingenious restoration of the historic Crown Building and houses a flagship 2,300 square-metre Aman Spa & Wellness centre spanning three storeys. A complete escape from the city that surrounds it, the spa’s centrepiece is its tranquil 20-metre indoor pool. It is set beneath soaring double-height ceilings and surrounded by floor-to-ceiling, soundproof windows that let in natural light while preserving a sense of sanctuary. The ambience is created by working fire pits, timber-style decking and deep daybeds, as well as a trio of copper domes that are set into the ceiling and nod to Indonesian temple architecture. At one end, a sculptural arrangement of oversized wind chimes evokes the majesty of a cathedral organ, making this a pool unlike any other in the world.
Amankila, Indonesia
Set on a lush hillside beneath sacred Mount Agung, Amankila gazes across the Lombok Strait from a prime position above the sweeping curve of Amuk Bay. The resort’s iconic three-tiered infinity pool cascades down the hillside, its aqua-marine tiles mirroring the verdant green rice terrace of Bali below. Many of the resort’s suites also offer their own private pools for afternoons spent admiring serene sea views.
Amanjiwo, Indonesia
Set in Central Java’s cultural heartland, Amanjiwo overlooks the UNESCO-listed Borobudur temple and the mystical Kedu Plain. At its centre lies a serene 40-metre pool, surrounded by banyan trees and limestone hills. Lined with green Javanese stone and framed by palatial stone colonnades, its imposing design invites quiet reflection among timeless surrounds, drawing the eye across the horizon to the distant silhouette of Borobudur.
Amandari, Indonesia
Designed after a traditional Indonesian village on the verdant lip of the Ayung River Gorge, Amandari rests close to the artistic centre of Ubud, inviting exploration of Bali’s cultural heart. When not exploring the region’s riches, guests can find peace around the central infinity swimming pool, which curves around the edge of the resort, mimicking the cascading rice paddies that lie below. Enveloped by nature, its emerald waters blend into the flora and fauna of its backdrop, offering views of endless green horizons and across Bali’s most characteristic rural landscapes.
Amanbagh, India
Set in Rajasthan’s rural heartland, Amanbagh is a palatial retreat among the palm and eucalyptus trees at the foothills of the Aravalli Range. At its centre, a tranquil 33-metre pool shimmers in soft hues of green quartzite. Surrounded by Mughal-inspired domes and colonnades, it offers a serene oasis steeped in rural stillness and regal splendour.
