At Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, Monaco takes center stage with its pavilion under the theme “Take Care of Wonder."
“Take Care of Wonder" invites each of us to rediscover and reclaim nature as a source of awe.
To “Take Care of Wonder" is to realize that by taking care of nature, we are also taking care of ourselves and that by protecting the fragile wonder of this planet, we are contributing to the survival of our own species.
Inspired by both Mediterranean and Japanese gardens, the Monaco Pavilion offers a sensory journey that highlights the vital relationship between humanity and nature. More than just an exhibition space, the pavilion aims to raise awareness of the environmental themes championed by the Prince Albert II Foundation.
As famously stated by Jacques-Yves Cousteau, “We love what we marvel at, and we protect what we love.” This philosophy is woven throughout the pavilion’s design and exhibits, divided into four spaces: Take Care of Wonder – the manifesto, Take Care of Our City, Take Care of Our Mother Earth, and Take Care of Our Oceans.
The Take Care of Wonder manifesto comes to life through interactive apertures that engage the senses of touch and smell, offering a multi-sensory introduction to Monaco’s rich heritage. Visitors will journey through the Principality’s iconic landmarks, from the former Prince’s Palace and the emblematic Casino de Monte-Carlo, with its splendid Belle Époque spaces, to the Oceanographic Museum, the pride of the Principality and its founder, Prince Albert I. Adding to this immersive experience is the Japanese Garden, an unexpected oasis designed by landscape architect Yasuo Beppu, winner of the 1990 Osaka Flower Exhibition.
The Monaco Pavilion also brings a taste of the Principality to Osaka with Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. Les Caves de l’Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo offers visitors an exclusive experience, featuring a unique menu that includes Grand Cru wines and cognacs from the world’s largest hotel cellar.
Furnished with elegance and high-quality pieces from Chelini, the space can also be made available to public, semi-public, or private entities and companies from both the Principality and Japan for hosting meetings, receptions, and conferences.
How will we be living in the future?
How will we be getting around?
How will we be taking care of ourselves?
Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai seeks to answer these questions through a veritable ‘People’s Living Lab,’ inviting everyone to reflect on their lives, aspirations, and how to live more fully, while contributing to a global effort to shape a shared vision for a sustainable future.
The Expo’s theme is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives," with three sub-themes: “Saving Lives," “Empowering Lives," and “Connecting Lives" – the category under which Monaco will present its pavilion.
Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai will welcome visitors until October 13, 2025, at Yumeshima, an artificial island specially reclaimed for the event in the city of Osaka, Kansai.
