The flip phone is adorned with no less than 35 stones.
Motorola has given the Razr a glitzy makeover.
The American electronics manufacturer has teamed up with Swarovski to create a new crystal-encrusted version of the iconic noughties smartphone and a pair of matching iced-out earbuds.
Part of the new, aptly named Brilliant collection, the two devices are perfect for those with a proclivity for bling. The new Razr showcases the famous flip mechanism and the same svelte silhouette as the 2004 original, but has a fresh, quite dazzling aesthetic.
The phone is decked out in “Ice Melt" blue and features a shimmering leather-inspired finish with a 3-D quilted pattern. It is adorned with 35 Swarovski crystals, including one giant stone with 26 facets on the hinge. The volume keys also have a crystal-inspired design that adds even more pizzazz. To top it off, Motorola has created a matching crossbody case to keep the couture device safe. It is described as “premium," but there are no other details as of yet.

The new Moto buds loops are also finished in the same Ice Melt hue as the Razr. Motorola says the Bose buds deliver crystal-clear audio that “sparkles as brilliantly as the Swarovski crystals." The sleek, lightweight frame is crafted to fit securely and comfortably on the outer ear. As such, Motorola says you can wear them all day without fatigue. The open-ear form also allows the wearer to stay connected to their environment while commuting, running, and so on.
There are, of course, many tricked-out smartphones on the market—Vertu previously unveiled a $41,500 device featuring Himalaya Alligator leather, 18-karat gold, and diamonds, for instance—but Motorola has managed to create something ostentatious yet also tasteful. Working with a brand such as Swarovski, which has a very distinctive visual identity, has likely helped with that. The duo first collaborated earlier this year, unveiling a pair of crystal-studded Moto buds loops in a color called French Oak.
The best part is that there will be more fashion-forward drops to come. Motorola says the Brilliant collection is “just the beginning." The company didn’t share a price or release date for the phone and headphones, but says the devices are “coming soon" to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
