Penfolds Re-corking Clinic Returns to Singapore

Partnering with National Geographic to produce “A Story in Every Bottle"

As wine collectors and connoisseurs know well, perfectly aged wine is an art, a treasure in itself, a taste of heaven. In recognition of this appreciation, Penfolds, Australian wine producer, is returning to Singapore with its Penfolds Re-corking Clinic.

Re-corking, the replacement of an old cork with a new one, is a service that Penfolds has been exclusively providing to collectors. Over the course of 26 years, Penfolds Re-Corking clinics have accessed well over 150,000 bottles aged 15 years or older from all over the world. Led by Penfolds Chief Winemaker Peter Gago and Penfolds Senior Red Winemaker Stephanie Dutton, the clinics are valuable for helping collectors health-check their prized collections.

Penfolds’ landing in Singapore this time is monumental, as the brand is joined by National Geographic to produce a digital documentary series around this distinctive service. With the belief that every bottle is unique and comes with a personal story, “A Story in Every Bottle" is a long-term collaboration that will uncover unique Singaporean wine stories and showcase some of the rarest and finest wine collections in the world.

Established in the world’s biggest cities, Penfolds Re-corking clinics are where collectors can listen to Penfolds’ chief winemakers share the history and personality of Penfolds wines as well as share tips on cellaring, wine care, and peak drinking windows. At the clinics, winemakers will first examine the bottle visually and if necessary, open them for further assessment. If in sound condition, the wine will be topped with the most recent vintage and re-corked.

Penfolds’ service is available free of charge on 14 November. Online registration is now opened at: https://www.penfolds.com/en-sg/events/recorking-clinics/singapore-recorking-clinic.
