เริ่มนับถอยหลังสู่การแข่งขันสเตมที่ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากรถแข่งสูตรหนึ่งครั้งแรกของประเทศไทย

เริ่มนับถอยหลังสู่การแข่งขันที่น่าตื่นเต้นเพื่อชิงความเป็นเลิศในสาขาวิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยี วิศวกรรมศาสตร์ และคณิตศาสตร์ (STEM) ผ่านโลกของมอเตอร์สปอร์ต

กรุงเทพฯ, 28 กันยายน 2567: นักเรียนตั้งแต่อายุเพียงห้าขวบจากทั่วประเทศไทยจะเข้าร่วมการแข่งขัน เอฟวัน อินสคูลส์ ประเทศไทย (F1 in Schools Thailand) ระดับชาติครั้งแรก ซึ่งจะจัดขึ้น ณ ทรู ดิจิทัล พาร์ค ระหว่างวันที่ 28 และ 29 กันยายน ศกนี้

การแข่งขันระดับประเทศ ของ เอฟวัน อินสคูลส์ ประเทศไทย  เป็นกิจกรรมพิเศษที่เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการการศึกษาระดับโลกของ เอฟวัน อินสคูลส์ ที่ก่อตั้งขึ้นในสหราชอาณาจักรเมื่อ 24 ปีที่แล้ว เพื่อท้าทายเยาวชนให้ออกแบบ สร้าง และแข่งรถแข่งสูตรหนึ่งขนาดเล็ก

โดยจะมีกว่า 25 ทีมจากทั่วประเทศไทย รวมถึงสองกลุ่มจากโรงเรียนเจียรวนนท์อุทิศ 2 จังหวัดนครราชสีมา ภายใต้มูลนิธิทรู ปลูกปัญญา หนึ่งทีมจากมูลนิธิออทิสติกไทย และทีมจากศูนย์แลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ เอฟวัน อินสคูลส์ ประเทศไทย จะต่อสู้เพื่อชิงตำแหน่งสูงสุดในการแข่งขันระดับชาติ (National Finals) นี้

“วิศวกรรุ่นเยาว์เหล่านี้ใช้เวลาหลายเดือนอย่างกระตือรือร้นในการเตรียมตัวสำหรับการแข่งขันระดับชาติครั้งแรกนี้ ซึ่งมอบโอกาสอันยอดเยี่ยมให้พวกเขาได้เปล่งประกาย" ดร.จักรพรรดิ “จอห์น" พิทักษ์ธารารวย ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารและประธานบริษัท 1 แอคชั่น เอ็ดดูเคชั่น จำกัด (1 Action Education Co., Ltd.) มูลนิธิแก้วจักรพรรดิ และ official In-Country Delivery Partner, F1 in Schools กล่าว

งานนี้ซึ่งเปิดให้บุคคลทั่วไปเข้าร่วมได้ มอบโอกาสพิเศษที่จะได้เห็นการผสมผสานระหว่างการศึกษา วิศวกรรม และความตื่นเต้นเร้าใจของมอเตอร์สปอร์ต

ในทางกลับกัน นักเรียนจะสามารถแสดงความสามารถด้านวิศวกรรม การทำงานเป็นทีม และทักษะการแก้ปัญหาอย่างสร้างสรรค์ได้ ดร. จักรพรรดิ ซึ่งเป็นประธานมูลนิธิแก้วจักรพรรดิ กล่าวเสริม

ความมุ่งมั่นต่อความยั่งยืน

งานนี้จัดขึ้นภายใต้แนวคิด “ความเป็นเลิศด้านวิศวกรรมแบบเร่งด่วน" (Engineering Excellence on the Fast Track) และเน้นย้ำถึงความมุ่งมั่นต่อความยั่งยืนและแนวทางปฏิบัติที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม

นั่นหมายความว่าวัสดุทั้งหมดที่ใช้ในงาน รวมถึงรถแข่งและถ้วยรางวัลอันทรงเกียรติ ล้วนทำจากวัสดุ PLA ที่ย่อยสลายได้

รถยนต์และถ้วยรางวัลถูกสร้างด้วยเครื่องพิมพ์สามมิติ ซึ่งแสดงให้เห็นถึงความสามารถของเทคโนโลยีล้ำสมัยในการลดขยะและลดผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมให้เหลือน้อยที่สุด

PLA หรือโพลีแล็กติกแอซิด เป็นพลาสติกที่ย่อยสลายได้ซึ่งได้มาจากทรัพยากรหมุนเวียน เช่น แป้งข้าวโพดหรืออ้อย

การใช้ PLA ในงานนี้เน้นย้ำถึงความมุ่งมั่นในการลดปริมาณคาร์บอนและส่งเสริมแนวทางปฏิบัติด้านการผลิตที่ยั่งยืน

ผู้เข้าร่วมงานสามารถสนุกสนานไปกับเวิร์กช็อปสเตมแบบลงมือปฏิบัติจริง การจัดแสดงแบบโต้ตอบ และโอกาสที่จะได้พบกับวิศวกรรุ่นเยาว์ที่ออกแบบรถยนต์

งานนี้ไม่ใช่แค่การแข่งขันเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นการเฉลิมฉลองความคิดสร้างสรรค์ การทำงานร่วมกัน และนวัตกรรม

งานนี้ยังถือเป็นโอกาสเปิดตัวศูนย์การเรียนรู้เพิ่มเติมของ เอฟวัน อินสคูลส์ ประเทศไทย ในทั่วประเทศ โดยเด็กอายุเพียงห้าขวบก็สามารถเรียนรู้เทคนิคการออกแบบและการผลิตทางวิศวกรรมล่าสุดได้

ศูนย์เหล่านี้จะมอบประสบการณ์การเรียนรู้แบบลงมือปฏิบัติจริงผ่านโปรแกรมที่ครอบคลุมตั้งแต่การออกแบบของเล่นและผลิตภัณฑ์ ไปสู่การออกแบบและการผลิตทางวิศวกรรม และสาขาวิชาสเตมต่างๆ ซึ่งเป็นภารกิจในการส่งเสริมนักประดิษฐ์รุ่นต่อไป

ศูนย์การเรียนรู้ของเอฟวัน อินสคูลส์ ประเทศไทย จะเสนอหลักสูตรประกาศนียบัตรต่างๆ ในสาขาสำคัญๆ เช่น การออกแบบและการผลิตของเล่นและผลิตภัณฑ์ การออกแบบและการผลิตทางวิศวกรรม และโปรแกรมสเตมที่เสนอโดยทีมที่จัดการแข่งขันเอฟวันระดับโลก

โครงการริเริ่มสร้างพลังใหม่

เอฟวัน อินสคูลส์ ประเทศไทย ได้เริ่มโครงการริเริ่มใหม่ที่ช่วยให้โรงเรียนต่างๆ ทั่วประเทศไทยสามารถจัดโปรแกรมออกแบบ สร้าง ทดสอบ และแข่งขันได้ โดยมอบประสบการณ์เชิงปฏิบัติและเชิงลึกในด้านวิศวกรรม การออกแบบ และความยั่งยืนให้กับนักเรียน

มีชุด Paper Cars 50 ชิ้นที่มอบประสบการณ์ที่น่าสนใจและให้ความรู้แก่นักเรียน โดยพวกเขาจะได้เรียนรู้หลักการของอากาศพลศาสตร์ การออกแบบ และวิศวกรรมในรูปแบบที่สนุกสนานและโต้ตอบได้

Countdown to Thailand’s First F1-Inspired STEM Contest Starts

The countdown to a thrilling contest for supremacy in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through the realm of motorsport has begun in earnest.

Students as young as five from across Thailand are due to join the first F1 in Schools Thailand’s competition that is set to take place at the True Digital Park, Bangkok, on September 28 and 29.

The F1 in Schools Thailand’s National Finals is an extraordinary event that forms an integral part of the F1 in Schools global educational initiative conceived in the UK that challenges youths to design, build, and race miniature Formula One cars.

Over 25 teams from across Thailand, including two teams from Chearavanont Uthit 2 School in Nakorn Rachasima under the Trueplookpanya Foundation, a group from the Autistic Thai Foundation and teams from F1 in Schools Thailand Knowledge Exchange Centre will battle it out for the top spot at the National Finals 2024.

“These young engineers have spent months with great enthusiasms preparing for this National Finals that offer them a great opportunity to shine," said Dr. Chakraphad Pitakthararuay, CEO and President of 1 Action Education Co., Ltd., the local partner of F1 in Schools.

 The event, which is open to the public, offers a unique chance to witness the intersection of education, engineering, and the exhilaration of motorsport, he pointed out.

On the other hand, students will be able to showcase their engineering prowess, teamwork, and creative problem-solving skills, added Dr. Chakraphad, who is also Chairman of the Kaew Chakraphad Foundation.

A Commitment to Sustainability

The event has embraced the theme of ‘Engineering Excellence on the Fast Track’ and accentuating a commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices.

That means all materials used during the event, including the racing cars and the prestigious trophies, are made from PLA biodegradable materials.

The cars and trophies are 3D-printed, showcasing the capabilities of cutting-edge technology in reducing waste and minimising environmental impact.

PLA, or polylactic acid, is a biodegradable plastic derived from renewable resources such as corn starch or sugarcane.

Its use in this event highlights a commitment to reducing the carbon footprint and promoting sustainable manufacturing practices.

“By choosing PLA, we are taking a step towards a greener future, encouraging participants and attendees alike to consider the environmental impacts of their actions," explained Dr. Chakraphad.

Fun for the Whole Family

In addition to the thrilling races, the event will feature a variety of engaging activities for all ages.

Attendees can enjoy hands-on STEM workshops, interactive displays, and a chance to meet the young engineers who designed the cars.

This event is more than just a race; it’s a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

A New Era of Learning and Innovation

This event also marks the opening of F1 in Schools Thailand’s additional learning centres across Thailand, where children as young as five years old can immerse themselves in the latest engineering design and manufacturing techniques.

These centres will provide hands-on learning experiences through comprehensive programmes that span toys and product design, engineering design and manufacturing, and various STEM disciplines – a mission to foster the next generation of innovators.

To ensure accessibility and engagement, every learning centre will feature state-of-the-art F1 racing simulators, available to try free of charge.

This unique experience allows students to feel the thrill of racing and understand the complexities of vehicle dynamics and engineering in a fun, interactive way.

Certificate Courses for Future Innovators

The F1 in Schools Thailand’s learning centres will offer a range of certificate courses in key areas including Toys and Product Design and Manufacturing; Engineering Design and Manufacturing: and STEM Programmes offered by the F1 Team.

New Empowering Initiative

The F1 in Schools Thailand has embarked on another new initiative that enables schools throughout Thailand to host their own Design, Make, Test, and Race programmes, providing students with a hands-on, immersive experience in engineering, design, and sustainability.

To make this initiative accessible to all schools, F1 in Schools Thailand is offering a comprehensive package that includes everything needed to run a successful programme.

There is a 50-piece Paper Cars Kit provides students with an engaging and educational experience, where they can learn the principles of aerodynamics, design, and engineering in a fun and interactive way. 

Including in the kit is a One-Day Race Track and Race Management: A complete setup for schools to organise a race day event, including a race track and all necessary materials for race management, ensuring an exciting and professional experience for all participants.

There are Comprehensive After-School Programmes that are designed to teach students how to design and manufacture racing cars using the latest technology and biodegradable materials.

Integration of Summatic, an innovative, award-winning, digital, learning platform, developed by Cambridge academics

The incorporation of Summatic into the network of F1 in Schools Thailand learning centres across the country will enhance the educational experience for students of all ages.  Summatic provides students with comprehensive lessons delivered interactively, along with unlimited practice questions with instant feedback.  With Summatic, students will learn essential curricula-aligned content that they will need to learn for their school exams., including mathematics, physics and engineering, and the F1 in Schools competition.
